Well, time has been going by WAY to quickly....I fear that the summer is going to be over in no time and the holidays will be right around the corner. The great thing about summer is all the fun trips that we take and the outdoor adventures that we get to participate in, but that means that my blogging time and my time at the computer is less, thus leaving my poor blog sitting idle sometimes and for that I do apologize. :) I now will try to fill in some gaps about the happenings of the last few weeks.
We went to Vegas from the 3rd thru the 8th, well really the 9th since our plane landed in Portland at 2:30am :) The trip was a celebration/bachelor/bachelorette party for the upcoming wedding of my little brother Scott to my soon to be wonderful sister-in-law Andrea. We hit vegas at just the right time and got to experience some of the hottest days that they have seen in a few years. Each day was anywhere between 110-120 degrees :) WOW was it hot!!! Thank goodness for AC, pools and lakes near by :)!!!!! So, we hit the strip a few days and evenings, rented a "party boat" and some wave runners one day and spent the day on Lake Mead, we went out to a REALLY FANCY dinner all dressed up and then say Ka, a cirque du soleil show and played our fair share of volleyball in my in-laws pool! :) It was a really fun time and was a great start to the wedding events that are to come. One sad note, the last day we were there Andrea received a call from her grandfather letting her know that her grandmother, who has been fighting (like a champ) a pretty tough bout with cancer was not doing very well. She was in Oklahoma at the time at a very wonderful cancer treatment center. So, Scott and Andrea booked tickets from Vegas to Oklahoma to be with her grandmother and grandfather. The end of last week her grandmother went to be with her Lord and Savior. We are so thankful that she is out of pain and in the arms of her Lord, but we will miss her here on earth! Please keep Scott, Andrea and Andrea's family in your prayers this week as they travel to Wisconsin to attend her funeral. Her grandma was a very, very special person in Andrea's life and this is a very hard time for her. Again, please pray for them as they try to coop with such a huge loss and at the same time get ready for the wedding and the beginning of Scott and Andrea's college career and Andrea's first college basketball season.
This leads me to the other major event that has been keeping me from blogging.....helping with the wedding. As you can see from the last bit of info, this is really a team effort to help make this wedding wonderful for Scott and Andrea! I LOVE weddings and all the fun details that go into them, so it is not a problem for me to step up and help them pull it together, the main concern is that it is a wonderful day and a great memory for the two of them!!! So, I will keep you posted on the wedding since that is the subject on my mind right now :) Okay, gotta run and work on those other duties that I keep overlooking, like laundry, dishes and house cleaning. :)
